DevNet Incentive
The incentive kicks off with 25x boost for the first transaction using Solana cluster time on August 29, 2023 at 9 a.m. PT. Then it will decrease by 1x per purchase, making the reward boost 24x, 23x, etc. for each additional purchase transaction.
Additionally, even in the absence of a transaction, the incentive is reduced by 1x per minute. The rebate incentive is currently still in effect and can be stacked! If there isn’t a transaction, the rebate is likewise reduced every minute.
That means there is no longer a DevNet incentive as of 9:24 am, at the latest. Obviously, depending on how many transactions there are, it might be gone much sooner! The rebate incentive will follow that same path adjusted to whatever the rebate percentage is at 9 am that day.
Node maximum per transaction: 150 nodes
Rewards boost maximum per wallet: 150 newly purchased nodes
Incentive timeframe: 6 months
Anyone who presently owns a node and does not purchase one or does not receive the incentive still receives a 2x for up to 6 running physical DevNet validators.
Running a Node and Receiving Rewards Boost
You can run a maximum of 6 nodes. (You may run 6 nodes with just 1 platinum node license) Even if you purchase more than six nodes, you just need to run six in order to receive the reward boost for all newly purchased nodes.
There will be an onboarding and setup period starting August 29th until September 10th. The official performance monitoring will begin September 10th.
You will only earn the incentives for 5 nodes, if you are running 6 nodes but only 5 of them are operating at 80%+ vote credits which is the performance threshold. If you bought 20 nodes and 5 of your 6 nodes are performing sufficiently then you will receive 5/6th of the 20 node reward.
All XAND earned via the reward boost will be locked for 18 months.
The standard 1x reward from those nodes will not be locked.
